I finally got one of Brenda's ornaments done from my on-line looming class. It took me 2 days (or was it 3 (?) to find where I'd put my jingle bells in my craft room...lol.
I used "Home For The Holidays Glittering Yarn" by Darice that I bought after Christmas last year at Michael's for only 10 cents. It was only .3 oz. on a card, and I used almost all of it for this one bell.
I combined it with Hobby Lobby's - "I Love This Yarn!" in Mistletoe Ombre. I think it came out rather nicely only that glittering "yarn" (which is really kinda like plastic tinsel on a string) doesn't stretch hardly at all so I ended-up having to take out the pegs of the KK flower loom to finish it.
I'm anxious to try another one using only 4-ply yarn. I also want to make a gold cord bell and an angel if time permits.
You can find all of Brenda's wonderful patterns here at her blog: http://loomlady.blogspot.com/
I'm kittyred/Scarlett and I live in "The Sunroom Cottage" with hubby- Harold of 21 years. Living with us and in my care are our 3 parrots (medium large x 2 and a small one x 1), 2 wickedly mischievous cats (also large and small) and my truly darling Chihuahua Chico that adopted me many years ago at the age of 3 when I was going through one of life's rough patches. He ended up giving my life new meaning with a whole lot of joy. I have a grown daughter, a son-in-law and 2 grandsons! Hubby has 2 grown kids. At this stage of my life I'm an Etsy shop owner x 2 and a stay at home artist and crafter of many mediums. Not long ago I was lured into the world of Blythe and became smitten with her. I now own 2 of these interesting dolls. My Etsy shop - "kittyred's Blytique" - http://www.kittyredsBlytique.etsy.com was inspired by her. Also, not since my childhood have I become so obsessed with Barbie. She inspired my second, fun Etsy shop - "Sew Barbie Loves Ken" - http://www.SewBarbieLovesKen.etsy.com. I welcome you to come visit both shops.
